10 Kpop Idols Who Look Like Anime Characters In Real Life
Here is a list of some kpop idols who look like anime characters in real life. This list contains both male and female idols who like anime.
If you ask someone from the west to name two major pop culture influences from the east, chances are they will say Kpop music and anime.
Kpop as the name suggests originates from South Korea and anime is a huge part of Japanese subculture.
However, these two things have global recognition. No, scratch that. They have a global hysteria!
So what happens when we try to combine these two? Well, I’ve often seen Kpop idols compared to anime characters.
And yes, some Kpop idols’ looks are specifically inspired by anime characters as well – the side bangs, the funky clothes, the bright colored hair.
So today, I’ve got this list of Kpop idols who look exactly like anime characters. Check it out and let me know if you agree.

Kpop Idols Who Look Like Anime Characters
I think these Kpop idols look exactly like the anime characters I’ve listed below. Do you agree?
TWICE’s Jeongyeon – Nami (One Piece)
Nami is one of THE most recognizable female anime characters of all time. And for a long time I wondered who in Kpp looked like her as there are so many cute female idols.
But then I saw this picture of Jeongyeon from TWICE and it was a eureka moment! Don’t they look so similar?
Jeongyeon also has the same spunk and mischievous spirit that Nami possesses so this comparison goes for their personalities as well.
I loved it when she had short colored hair as she looked so amazingly like an anime character during that time.
Oh and that hair color shade and spiky hairstyle just screams “Nami”!
Super Junior’s Eunhyuk – Luffy (One Piece)
Speaking of Nami from One Piece, we cannot go without casting our favorite King of the Pirates, Monkey D. Luffy can we?
So if there was a live action movie being made for One Piece, I’d definitely consider hiring Super Junior’s Eunhyuk.
And yes, that cosplay Eunhyuk did where he went dressed as Monkey D. Luffy totally sealed the deal!
He also has that cute, Golden Retriever kind of personality that Luffy possesses. Also, that smile is all Luffy.
EXO’s Kai – Trunks (Dragon Ball Z)

One of my favorite anime characters of all time is Future Trunks from Dragon Ball Z. So when I saw this picture of Kai from EXO my jaw dropped open.
He looked just like Trunks!

If Akira Toriyama’s studio wants to make a live action Dragon Ball Z movie, they now know that Kai would be perfect.
What made me think of Kai as Trunks is the hair. The color is the exact shade of purple Trunks wears!
BTS’s RM – V (Mystic Messenger)

For a long time, I thought which anime character RM from BTSwould look like. Then I saw a photograph of him leaving the airport with a long grey cardigan on and green-tinted hair.
And that’s when it hit me… he looks exactly like V from Mystic Messenger.
Yes, yes. I get the irony in that since there is another member in BTS who is actually called “V”. But it’s actually RM who resembles this particular anime character.
EXO’s Chen – Tadashi (Big Hero 6)
Okay, I’ll bite. I know Big Hero 6 is a Disney movie so it isn’t technically an anime, but the resemblance was too much to ignore.
That wholesome smile, the cap, the t-shirt. Hey, for me, Chen is Tadashi!
Big Bang’s G-dragon – Gaara (Naruto)
Now this was one of the resemblances that I didn’t see at first. But when I did, boy did it hit me like a truck!
G-dragon from BIG BANG is one of the most influential Kpop artists from the first generation. I remember adoring this red hair era.
But you know what? He looks exactly like Gaara from Naruto in this particular get up. The smokey eye makeup and eyeliner completes the whole look.
Gaara was originally an antagonist on the show before joining forces with the good guys and becoming one of our most favorite heroes ever.
So G-dragon’s bad boy vibes fit this character to a T.
NU’EST’s Ren – Katsura Kotarou (Gintama)
I’ve always admired the classic, sophisticated good looks of Ren from the fourth generation Kpop band NU’EST.
He has that pretty long hair that gives him the look of a historical hero.
The serious, stoic look on their faces and those gorgeous side bangs also match. What’s fun is that the height and weight that’s ascribed to Katsura, is exactly the height and weight of Ren. Interesting.
SEVENTEEN’s Jun – Genos (One Punch Man)
The spiky blonde hair, the front bangs, the serious look on his face – yup Jun from SEVENTEEN is exactly like Genos from One Punch Man.
What I find funny about casting Jun as a live action Genos is that he is originally Chinese and his real name is Wen Junhui.

So here’s a Chinese celebrity, singing in Korean, whom I’ve fan-casted as a Japanese anime character. Talk about being pan Asian.
EXO’s Luhan – Nagisa (Free! Iwatobi Swim Club)

Luhan has the perfect boyish charm that Nagisa from Free! Iwatobi Swim Club embodies. And that shaggy blonde hair really put the cherry on the cake.
Like Jun, Lu Han is also of Chinese descent that makes this even more interesting.
F(x)’s Krystal – Erza (Fairy Tail)
Fairy Tail is a classic anime that people of all ages have come to love. One of the most interesting characters in the show was Ezra Scarlet, a member of Team Natsu and an S-class Mage.
Her fiery red locks have become her signature and looking at Krystal’s recent red haired pictures I couldn’t help but notice how similar these two look.
And personality wise I think Krystal from F(x) has a very bold, kickass vibe to her while also caring about her bandmates a lot. This is in tune with Ezra Scarlet’s personality. So I think she’s a good fit.
